During his first three seasons at North, he earned All-America honors in 400 freestyle relay (2012), 50 freestyle (2014), 100 freestyle (2013,14), 200 freestyle relay (2013,14) and 400 freestyle relay (2013,14). Along with his All-America accomplishments, Sam also helped set an Indiana State record in the 200 freestyle relay.Earned All-State honors in the 100 freestyle and both freestyle relays. He also helped lead his team to a second-place team finish at the Indiana state championships during his junior season. Loescher is a staple in the record books with multiple times in the top-five at the Indiana state championships in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle. Sam was coached by Jim Sheridan, who coaches both his club and high school teams. Also excelled in the classroom as a member of National Honor Society.
