Everroad, a 1961 Columbus High School graduate, was second in the state in diving his junior year in 1960, but in his senior year, was the state champion and set a state record. He became the second high school diver — after Vogel — to do the full-twisting one-and-a-half somersault. Recently, he was a National Masters Diving Champion in 2016 and the World Masters Diving Champion in 2017.
