A four-year starting guard under HOF coach Bill Stearman, he was the first freshman to start in the Stearman era… held the Columbus / Columbus North High School career scoring record of 1,272 points… until Josh Speidel broke it in 2015.... led Columbus in 1963 to one of its greatest seasons ever and its first undefeated regular season with #1 ranking the majority of the year and 25-1 final record… lost in semi-state to eventual state champion Muncie Central… starting guard on the 1963 Indiana All-Star Team… lettered three years at Indiana University and scored 20 points in his first starting assignment… regarded as one of the best defensive players in the Big Ten… team improved from last in Big Ten to 1967 conference champions his senior year… member of the Indiana College All-Star Team… drafted by the Indiana Pacers… member of the 1987 Silver Anniversary Team.
